Our 9 yr old miniature schnauzer, Pistol Pete, likes to pretend that the baby doesn't even exist. You can hold her up right to him and he won't even look at her. But a funny thing happens when it's time to sleep.....somebody sneaks onto the bed and snuggles with her.

Surprise!
My poor baby was so happy in her crib watching her mobile. And then Pistol Pete had to go and ruin it!

I turn my back for ONE minute...
So much to my disdain, Michael has already started trying to convert the baby into a Star Wars fanatic. As much as I was hoping she would have zero interest, it just doesn't look like that's going to be the case. I came downstairs this weekend to find him holding the baby up to the TV watching Star Wars and man was she just LOVING it. I am so depressed.

Daddy-Daughter Weekend
Michael finally got to have the baby all to him self this weekend since I had an upper respritatory infection and was quarantined to the upstairs of the house. I dont know what hurt more - being sick, or being away from my baby. Lucy and Daddy seemed to have managed just fine without me....

A Good Waker
As Charley likes to say, she and I are Not good 'wakers'. I dont know if this gene has just skipped Lucy, or if she hasnt learned to be grumpy upon waking yet...but so far she's quite sweet. Maybe it's all those mysterious baby-dreams that keep her smiling.

The Gift of Gab
So it's no surprise to anyone that my child is noisy. She has been trying to talk to us since the day she was born. Now she has progressed to 'Oooh-aaaAAAHS' and an occational holler at Michael. I guess it's also no surprise that she says just as much with her facial expressions as she does with her noises....

Never too big for Daddy....
After a hard day at kindergarten, there's nothing better than to be carried by Daddy. Daddy, on the other hand, is still in shock from the realization that our little Charley Bear is now a full-fleged KID.

Pibillo Picasso
Our little kindergartner has become quite the artist, and it's almost freaky how accurate her drawing of her daddy is! She also just completed her first 6 weeks of kindergarten, and, decided that since her teacher was always giving her reports on her behavior, she wanted to make a report card for the teacher of the teacher's behavior. You can imagine the shock on Mrs. Prince's face when Michael handed her Charley's evaluation at the Parent Teacher Conference. Well if they didn't know already, they surely know now: our girl is one of a kind!

That's My Daughter - Lucy has a song
Well after much searching, we finally have a song for Lucy. She LOVES listening to her Daddy play it on his guitar and sing it to her.

Exercise is fun. In a stroller.
As we head into the fall and nice weather days become few and far between, we took the opportunity this past weekend to take our little Mini out for a stroll. She sure does love the fresh air. And being pushed around like a princess isnt too bad either.

Bathtime for Lucy
Although she wasnt too crazy about baths at first, she totally loooooves them now. And she's getting pretty good at kicking those legs in the bath water! Michael and I definitely have a couple of water babies on our hands.

Bubble Bath Saturday Night
In the McGehee household, Saturday nights are extra special because the Bear gets to have herself a giant bubble bath. And when I say giant - I mean GIANT. We fill up the 6 foot tub then turn on the jets to really get the bubbles going. The last time she took her bubble bath she was in the tub an hour and a half! She calls it the 'Desert of Bubbles'. She also likes to create....hats. Out of washcloths. She's our silly girl ~
